About Agia Pelagia
Agia Pelagia is a former seaside fishing village built in the centre of a picturesque amphitheatric bay, located on the north coast of Crete, 23 km northwest from the airport in Heraklion.
Surrounded by mountains and hills, Agia Pelagia lies right in the middle of Crete which makes it easy to be a base for tours and excursions around this Greek largest island. Except of a main sandy beach there are another 9 smaller sandy and rocky beaches nearby reached easily on foot.
There are some of the best Cretan tavernas in the village and nearby and many bars, cafes, shops and boutiques right along the main beach.
